What Kind of Research Is Needed to Make a Large-scale Test Useful for Society? A Review of Recent Studies

Abstract

In this article, research related to educational measurement, evaluation, and research methods is reviewed. A majority of the articles were published from July 2018 through June 2019. In this paper, the relationship between the focus of these studies and the key concepts of improvement for developing a large-scale testing system, such as the university entrance examination, are illustrated. Recently the reformation of the Japanese university entrance examination system was forced to suspend. Thus, the findings of this article should be taken into account when discussing the new system for the university entrance examination from the viewpoint of psychological scale construction, methodological study of psychometrics, and feasibility of the test system, as well as the enhancement of the study environment of psychometrics and analytical methods. Key Words: high school/university articulation reforms, university entrance examination, psychological scale, item response model 本稿は 2018 年 7 月から 2019 年 6 月の 1 年間を中心とした「測定・評価・研究法」に関連する研究成 果について，その動向をまとめた。そのうえで，今後の教育測定学や教育評価の研究が，新しい大学入 試制度の導入に代表される，大規模なテストの制度設計にどのように役立てられるかについて，一つの 指針を示すことを目的とした。新しい高大接続のための仕組みとして導入が予定されていた，大学入学 のための共通テストに英語 4 技能入試や記述式を導入する試みが，導入を目前にして再考を迫られてい る今，これまで発表されてきた「心理尺度構成」 「測定法に関する方法論的検討」 「テストに関連する応 用・実践研究」 「その他，測定・評価・研究法に関連する研究」の諸論考から，テストで測られる構成概 念の必要性の議論や，測定方法の実現可能性に関する議論を充実させることと，教育測定関連の研究環 境の充実や新しい分析手法の検討が今後重要になることを指摘した。 キーワード：高大接続改革，大学入試，心理尺度，項目反応モデル しい知見を与えた論文について紹介し，その内容を概 括することを通じ，教育心理学研究において「測定・ 評価・研究法」分野における今後の研究の方向性を示 すことを第一の目的とした。あわせて，高大接続の観 点から教育心理学の中で今後ますます測定論的な検討 を科学的に行う姿勢が必要とされ，多くの知見が参考
