Abstract

Spray application of 2 mM BA to the terminal inflorescences of soyabean cv. Shore and Essex at fruit setting generally increased fruit setting and seed yield. The apical fruits on the inflorescences gave the greatest response to BA and seed wt. increase was apparent 3, 4 wk after BA treatment. Shore responded to BA treatment more than Essex; in 1 yr out of 3, no response was obtained with Essex.
