Abstract

The 21st century has drifted away from the Gandhian postulates, with lust for power, disrespect for religion, misuse of science and technology, unfair competition, thereby leading to ill-health. Only a healthy mind can build a healthy Nation. Our Institution strongly advocates the implementation of Gandhian values with the motto, “Wipe every tear from every eye.” The paper highlights the outcome of various initiatives undertaken by the University to implement the Gandhian Values in Health Science education. The Institution Model of Integrated Curriculum aims at the holistic development of the budding health care profes-sional, doing away with the fragmented approach to teaching-learning. We as health professionals, need to be role models for the community. The paper strongly recommends that Health Science institutions need to foster a cultural ethos, imbibing the philosophy of the Mahatma in the true sense.
