Abstract

A new secoiridoid glycoside, secologanoside 7-methyl ester, was isolated together with 10 known secoiridoid glycosides, 8-epikingiside, oleuropein, 10-hydroxyoleuropein, 10-acetoxyoleuropein, ligstroside, 10- hydroxyligstroside, 10-acetoxyligstroside, oleoside dimethyl ester, 10-hydroxyoleoside dimethyl ester, 10-hydroxyoleoside 11-methyl ester, from the bark of Osmanthus asiaticus. The structure of the new compound has been characterized on the basis of spectroscopic evidence. © 1993.
