Abstract
Study of new Eurypterus fischeri material from Silurian limestone of the type locality on Oesel, Estonia, and of material prepared in the late 1800's by G. Holm but not described, as well as unpublished posthumous plates of Holm's drawings, has permitted reconstruction of the external anatomy. The gills are considered to have been on the ventral body wall, not part of the inside of the appendage. Sexual dimorphism is proven.
