Abstract

Venous diseases are very frequent in the German population. Early diagnostic investigation and treatment can prevent a progression of the venous disease and reduce the severity of its sequelae. The therapeutic spectrum of varicosis includes conservative as well as interventional and surgical methods. Sclerotherapy is an important treatment for varicosis and venous malformations due to its little invasivity and general tolerance by patients. The following article describes sclerotherapy of chronic venous insufficiency in dermatology. © 2014 Deutsche Dermatologische Gesellschaft (DDG). Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
