Abstract

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the changes in the competitiveness and specialization of Tanjung Priok Port with a comparison of ports in Indonesia. This study uses shift-share analysis, location quotient, and BCG techniques. The results of the analysis show that the effects of regional shifts negatively impact the mineral, iron, and steel fuel sectors, as well as machinery and electrical equipment, but positively impact other finished textile goods. Tanjung Priok Port has experienced an increase in regional competitiveness and industrial advantages, especially for finished textile goods. By incorporating the location coefficient into the BCG matrix, this study shows that the Port of Tanjung Priok maintains its position in the import of finished textiles, iron and steel, machinery and electrical equipment, and its parts in the Star category. However, mineral fuels have been degraded and remain in the Emerging category.
