Abstract

This paper uses a time-domain acoustical wave propagator method as a tool to study the sound scattering properties of a non-uniform boundary surface. Using this method, the modeling of the generation, interaction and absorption of sound in the vicinity of the surface can be performed very quickly time. The method allows for an efficient numerical analysis of transient interactions between the sound and non-uniform boundaries and offers new opportunities for examining time domain sound scattering and absorption at non-uniform boundary surfaces. © 2013 Acoustical Society of America.
