Abstract

Purpose – Muhammadiyah 7 Joyosuran Elementary School has the potential to become an Adiwiyata School, but is hampered by a lack of school support and uncoordinated green school implementation, which has impacted literacy interest in the Adiwiyata School concept. Through this empowerment, it is hoped that partners can develop their potential, increase their competitiveness, and move towards independence as an Adiwiyata School. Design/methodology/approach – The methods used in this community service are socialization, training, application of technology, mentoring and evaluation, monitoring and improvement of facility services. Findings – The results show an increase in the knowledge of school residents about the concept of Adiwiyata schools and an increase in concern for the school environment by not littering to prevent flooding in the school environment. Originality/value – This initiative not only addresses low literacy rates but also contributes to making Muhammadiyah 7 Joyosuran Elementary School an Adiwiyata School.
