Abstract
A new species of Mediorhynchus (Acanthocephala, Gigantorhynchidae) is described based on 36 specimens collected from 4 individuals of Turdus chiguanco (Lafresnaye & D'Orbigny, 1837). The birds were captured in the district of Muqui, Jauja Province, Junín, Peru. The new species, Mediorhynchus peruensis is characterized by the armature of the proboscis and lemnisci length extending to the middle or back of the anterior testis in the male and to the middle front of the body in the female.
