Abstract

Describes Colidotea wallersteini n.sp. and Synidotea francesae n.sp. (Crustacea: Valvifera: Idoteidae: Idoteinae). The genus Colidotea is rediagnosed, a key to the known species presented, and its evolution and historical biogeography described. Both trans-oceanic dispersal and vicariance phenomona appear to have played roles in the establishment of modern distributional patterns of Colidotea.-from Author
