Abstract
Introduction: In recent years student independence in learning has received significant attention in educational research. Student independence refers to a student's ability to take ownership of their learning, make decisions about their own learning process, and set goals for themselves. This concept is closely related to the idea of student-centered learning, where students are encouraged to play an active role in the learning process. In mathematics education, student independence has been proven to have a positive impact on student motivation, engagement and achievement. Objective: To provide an overview and ideas from the results of a literature review regarding the influence of student independence on mathematics learning outcomes. Method: The method used in this research is a literature review. Search for academic articles through online databases. Then filtering was carried out to obtain 10 suitable articles. The method used in this research is a literature review. Search for academic articles via Online Database (search via Google Schooler, Pub Med from 2016 – 2022. Then filtering using PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparative, Outcome) obtained 10 suitable articles. Results: Based on the research results, it shows that independent learning has a positive influence on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Conclusion: There is an influence of student learning independence on student mathematics learning outcomes. Keywords: Mathematics, Independence, Learning Results
