Abstract
This bibliometric study aims to know the degree of interest of the international academic community on the interaction between functional diversity mediated by technology and digital competence in the historical series (1982-2019). For this purpose, an analysis of the scientific literature is conducted in the two main indexes of citations used globally to measure the research output: Web of Science and Scopus. 263 works on the subject have been identified in both databases. The results of the bibliometric analysis indicated that productivity has increased considerably since 2006. The main medium of dissemination, in addition to scientific journals, are the thematic collections of books and the publications of the conference proceedings. Among the countries with the highest production are: United States, Spain and Great Britain. Finally, the analysis of the thematic relational nodes shows that there are three main trends: (1) the interaction of technology with people with functional diversity. (2) The relationship of technology with communication in people with functional diversity and (3) the relationship between e-inclusion and digital competence.
