Abstract
Objectives : evaluate therapeutic adherence of patients with prevalent pathologies, identifying related factors. Quantify the improvement in adherence achieved through pharmaceutical professional services (PFS). Check satisfaction with the service. Methods : design: 1st phase: monocentric, descriptive, longitudinal study, carried out between 3/18 and 4/10/2019. 2nd phase: quasi-experimental study without a control group, with educational intervention and SPF, review of medication use (RUM) and personalized dosing systems (SPD), October-November/2019. Subjects : adult patients with dyslipidemia, hypertension or diabetes, who went to the pharmacy and agreed to participate. For the 2nd phase, patients who were non-adherent in the 1st were selected. Variables : adherence (measured with the Morisky-Green test), satisfaction with the service. Demographic variables. Results : 1st phase: 101 patients, average age 69 years. 50.5% men. The proportion of non-adherents was 55.4%. 40 (71.4%) sometimes forget to take their medications. Adherence was not related to sex, age, follow-up, number of pathologies or educational level (p>0.05). 2nd phase: RUM: the percentage of non-adherent patients decreased to 67%. SPD: 9 of the 10 patients were adherent at the end of the study. 1 patient was non-adherent due to sporadically forgetting some feedings. 100% of the satisfaction surveys reported “very satisfied”, they would continue to visit the pharmacy and recommend it. Conclusions : therapeutic adherence was low, less than 50%. No relationship was found with the factors analyzed. Performing RUM and SPD improves adherence. The satisfaction level was 100%. All patients wanted to continue with the service.
