Abstract
The primary objective of this research study is to assess the perceptions of university staff regarding telecommuting in higher education. The methodology is quantitative, non-experimental, transactional, and descriptive. The results show that lower-ranking administrative staff mostly prefer to work remotely or in a hybrid mode after the pandemic. This is with necessary adjustments within the organization such as redistributing workloads, increasing salaries, and establishing new schedules. In the case of managerial positions, they believe that the telecommuting scheme is not an optimal way to perform job-related tasks. It is concluded that despite telecommuting being an efficient way to manage personnel in response to changes brought about by globalization to the university, it may not be a viable job alternative.
