Abstract
Education is one of the main Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to advance in the changes required by humanity. The objective of this article is to study the integration of green chemistry in the educational curriculum as a mechanism for the development of the sustainable approach. Methodologically, the study consists of a theoretical review of various bibliographic sources in which the importance of changes in the curricular design of educational levels in nations is highlighted. The findings pointed out that there is a need to insert educational transformations to advance in the development of the principles of green chemistry, contributing to the care of the environment and social awareness to res-pond to the challenges of sustainability. Among the most important conclusions we highlight that integration has been developing in various university fields. However, it is necessary to increase its dissemination and application in other educational levels to strengthen the fo-cus of sustainability in the development of a society committed to the well-being of future generations.
