Abstract
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 have become an important agenda that needs to be addressed by all countries in the world nowadays. Sustainable development has been discussed since 1972 through the Stockholm Conference to determine the issue of the environmental impact of human-made development. At the level of higher learning institutions (HLIs) in Malaysia, SDGs is not implemented in all HLIs. Thus, this matter needs to be given special attention. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of HLIs in sustaining the SDGs. This qualitative research method involves secondary data from book sources, journal articles, and online sources that focus on the SDGs. In the opinion of the author, the main challenge in sustaining this sustainable development in 2022 towards 2030 in the next 8 years is to strengthen the strategy and put the 17 goals of the SDGs in the main agenda of HLIs.
