Abstract

Hydrolats have the same pharmacological activities as essential oils, but more attenuated, because of lower concentrations in terpenoids. GC—MS was used in the chemical composition determination of four hydrolats: lavender (linalool, linalyl acetate), thyme (p-cymene, thymol), hydrolat of rosemary batch 1 (α-pinene, 1–8 cineole, linalool, camphor, linalyl acetate), hydrolat of rosemary batch 2 (1–8 cineole, linalool traces, camphor, borneol, α-terpineol, verbenone). Centesimal composition of each terpen was obtained by internal normalisation, concentration of each terpen was obtained by the use of internal standard method. © 2008, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
