Abstract

The article discusses how the Baker-Polito Administration of Massachusetts, in collaboration with the deans of the state's three dental schools and the Massachusetts Dental Society, has announced dental education core competencies to prevent opioid misuse and its management. The administration has reportedly taken legislative actions to restrict opioid prescriptions, both the supply and length of the prescription, and designed a prescription monitoring program.
