Abstract

CUBE – demonstration areas and exhibition objects. The article presents the carbon concrete demonstrator areas and objects installed at the CUBE research building. These include the interior walls of the kitchenette and wardrobe, the test stands and exchange surfaces in the façade area of the BOX as well as various exhibition objects in the exterior and interior areas. It is demonstrated how carbon reinforced concrete can be used in a variety of ways and to great advantage, e. g. as a design element for space-defining components or as part of inventory and furniture units. It can be prestressed, heated and printed on the surface. In addition, electrical switching elements and high-performance insulation can be integrated into carbon concrete panels.
