Plotting mccabe-thiele diagrams in microsoft excel

Abstract

For a binary distillation problem involving a constant relative volatility, a McCabe-Thiele diagram is useful for demonstrating the relationships among the reflux ratio, the number of stages, the relative volatility, and the feed condition. However, these diagrams are difficult and time-consuming to draw accurately by hand. This paper provides directions for plotting McCabe-Thiele diagrams using Microsoft Excel.
