Abstract

Former Vice President Dick Cheney's heart transplant earlier this year revived discussion over the wisdom and ethics of transplanting the elderly. This month, "The AJT Report" reviews the evolving techniques and improved outcomes that have increased the feasibility of transplanting this patient population. Also this month, we examine China's March statement that it will end the practice of transplanting organs from executed prisoners.
