Application of optical coherence tomography in dermatology

Abstract

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an imaging technique that obtains information in the tissue sagittal plane based on the principles of low-coherence light interference. It has characteristics of high resolution, good repeatability, rapid imaging, and non-invasiveness, and has been widely used in ophthalmology. OCT is suitable for skin imaging, and its image characteristics are highly consistent with skin structure. This review summarizes the principles of OCT and its application prospects in dermatology.
