Abstract

Background: The Lake Louise Score (LLS) – 2018 is a revised 4-item questionnaire used in the diagnosis of Acute Mountain Sickness. However, a validated Hindi translation of LLS-2018 is not available. Material and Method: Fifty Hindi-speaking volunteers self-reported the translated Hindi version of LLS-2018 after active ascent to high altitude (11,500 ft). It was then tested for its face validity and internal consistency. Result: The Cronbach’s alpha was 0.69 and the corrected item score correlation was greater than 0.3. Conclusion: The simple psychometric properties validate the Hindi version of LLS-2018 for the diagnosis of Acute Mountain Sickness.
