Abstract
Oil palm sub-sector is in a transition process. The privatization in 1997 subjects the sub-sector to institutional changes: from an integrated and planed development, the sub-sector faces to news actors and institutions as the cooperatives of farmers, a modified access to credit and seed, and a need of new forms of coordination. Actual tensions between actors result from these negotiations and reveal the diversification proceeded in the sector particularly in the production and processing forms.
