Abstract

This study aims to build an Arduino-based automatic sluice system and combine it with the internet of things to open or close the door based on the water level in the water reservoir which was previously still conventional. Conventional sluice gates are considered less effective, considering the high rainfall accompanied by difficulty in estimating the water level which has the potential to change either due to high rainfall or due to water absorption. The research method used is a prototyping system. The expected result is the realization of automatic sluice gates to ease people in carrying out their duties and make the system run more efficiently. Besides being automatic, this tool has the advantage that it can be controlled remotely by using the internet of things. The design of this automatic sluice gate uses an Arduino Uno microcontroller as a processing tool, and is equipped with ultrasonic sensors, water level float switch sensors, servo motors. The expected result is the creation of an automatic sluice system that can reduce human errors on duty, given the difficulty of estimating the water level which is always changing.
