Abstract

This article summarizes a memoir presented as part of the ACTE training program in art therapy, France. Based on professional practice of art therapy over several years at Rive-Neuve, a hospice institution, interest, and personal involvement in spirituality, this work addresses an explicit dimension of palliative care: spiritual support- through art therapy. Exploration is directed to our questioning as living beings engaged on a path leading inevitably to our death. Speaking of spiritual space constantly introduces the paradox of speaking of an experience « beyond words ». It is nevertheless interesting and structuring to delve into philosophical and religious concepts which open our mind to a larger dimension. © Médecine and Hygiène.
