Abstract
With injuries of the knee joint, a detailed investigation is essential to avoid a false diagnosis and to identify accompanying injuries of obvious trauma. This investigation should include native x-ray as well as other imaging procedures such as magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography. To treat knee joint injuries as successfully as possible, several factors are fundamental: the right point in time, the ideal surgical access path, and an appropriate implant and its correct placement. © Springer Medizin Verlag 2008.
