Abstract

We summarize the basic principles of, and governing equations for, groundwater flow and transport. Topics covered include the concepts of pressure and hydraulic head, Darcy’s law, permeability, and storage. We compare saturated and unsaturated flow. We provide an introduction to heat and solute transport.
