Abstract

Stereotype is a labeling or perspective carried out by a person or social group. This stereotype is subjective towards those who are stereotyped so that the party is harmed. The purpose of this study is to find out the stereotypes of marginal people in the short story collection at Reni Nuryanti's Di Kala Pagi which is divided into two namely negative stereotypes and positive stereotypes. This type of research is qualitative by using note-taking data collection techniques and analysis techniques carried out in stages (1) Collecting various data needed in the study (2) attaching data in the form of sentence fragments in accordance with the formulation of the problem in question (3) analyzing the deductions in accordance with the foundation of stereotypical concepts through the perspective of the author which focuses on the generalization of the problems that have been raised. It can be concluded that the stereotypes in the short story collection in the Di Kala Pagi that the depictions of marginal people have positive qualities that are resilient and not soaked up as their differences with the affluent and well-being society, someone, the work makes the stereotypes of marginal people arise and exists because it becomes a benchmark in one's level . Religious doctrine makes a person have criteria to judge religious and religious marginal people. The negative stereotypical side is due to the negative side of social media and television which shows the distress of marginalized people and always become victims of capitalist society and cannot uphold their own rights.
