Abstract

The unit of the extent of salt-affected soils stated in Table 6 (The extent of salt-affected soils, by type and severity of salt-affectedness) should be 1 000 000 ha, and not 1000 ha. The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
