Abstract
BACKGROUND: It was proved that Oreum trekking is effective for postural stability, but testification on the effect cumulated for total 12 hours (42 km) at every 1-week interval had not been yet. The aim of this study was to analyze an effect of Oreum trekking on the impulse controllability and postural stability. METHODS: Male and female (total N.=20) participated in the experiment for 1 month. All participated in Oreum trekking and performed landing motion from vertical height of 40 cm. Analyzed variables was consisted of ground reaction force components between bilateral leg and dynamic postural stability index (DPSI) generated in the course of landing. RESULT S: Occurrence time of maximal force was increased gradually, but anterior-posterior GRF and loading rate was decreased, but furthermore DPSI was improved greatly relative to participation period of trekking. Also it was testified that trekking participation of 1 times a week was effective when analyzed an interaction effect of anterior-posterior stability index. Asymmetric significance between bilateral leg in all variables was not verified, but showed rather symmetric pattern after participation of Oreum trekking. CONCLUSIONS: The result of this study suggested that participation of Oreum trekking program was effective on the postural stability and neuromuscular controllability.
