Abstract
The article focuses on the emergence of emotion-sensing technologies. Such technology had been used at the Super Bowl event on February 1, 2009 where viewers were asked to wear vests with sensors that monitor their heart rate, movement breathing and sweat. These sensors were provided by a market research company designed to measure the emotional engagement of viewers with advertisements during commercial breaks. Nice Systems is one company that specialises in emotion-sensitive software and call-monitoring systems for companies and security organisations.
