Sustainability plays a fundamental role in tourism as it’s present in environmental, economic and social factors, emphasising the growth of tourism in wineries focused on preservation/conservation. The central question of the research is: what’s the reality of scientific studies on wine tourism and sustainability? As an objective, the work aims to analyze the scientific research that addressed the theme of wine tourism and sustainability. The methodology consists of a qualitative and descriptive theoretical essay through bibliographic research, with a survey of the scientific production available in the "WoS" and "Scopus" databases. The search term used was the keywords "wine tourism" and "sustainability". The results suggest that research on sustainability in the wine tourism chain is growing with emerging perceptions and shows a geographic study concentration in some countries such as France, the United States, and Brazil. Consumers are becoming more aware of the environmental consequences of their choices, with greater attention to sustainable issues when purchasing prod-ucts. It concluded that there are still few studies focused on sustainability in wine tourism, which explains how the implementation of sustainability practices contributes to increasing the competi-tiveness of companies in the wine sector.
