Abstract

The impacts generated by climate change are irreversible and put biodiversity at risk. Livestock is directly affected, so it is essential to carry out actions to mitigate these effects that will affect thermal comfort, which causes stress in animals, also affects metabolic and digestive functions, forage intake, milk production, feed conversion efficiency and animal performan-ce. The implementation of silvopastoral systems is one of the actions to mitigate these affectations in the livestock sector. This article exposes the main effects caused by climate change at a global level, and delving into some results that have been obtained in various regions and in Mexico by implementing silvopastoral systems in livestock areas.
