Abstract

We examine the impact of applicants' social class during the hiring process. First, we conducted a construct clarity study to clarify this multidimensional construct. Using these factors we developed an applicant stimulus material (e.g., referral email) and find support for applicants' social class influencing hiring managers' perceptions of P-O fit.
