Abstract

Presents the results of an investigation whose purpose was to establish the association between some family and psychosocial factors and the consumption of drugs in Colombian adolescents. High school students with good academic performance, without apparent problems of consumption of psychoactive substances and adolescents who were in treatment for such problems were selected in order to ensure comparability. Multiple scales were used to assess the various factors. The results show that, to reduced maternal behavioral control, less satisfaction with life and greater presence of adverse events increases the likelihood of drug use in adolescence.
