Abstract

Many efforts have been made to manage Used Beverages Carton (UBC) waste, especially through the circular economy that regulates the entire life cycle of products and materials in a sustainable manner. Reverse logic is a mechanism of the circular economy that examines the process of managing the flow of goods moving from consumers back to producers or distributors with the purpose of proper repair, recycling, reuse, or disposal. This study aims to systematically examine the practice and success and failure factors in the implementation of reverse logistics to reduce UBC waste. The research was conducted in June at the IPB University Vocational School. The research method was carried out by browsing the scientific literature from various indexed databases, such as Scopus and Web of Science with strict inclusion criteria using Colandr. The results of the review of 133 articles show that the success of reverse logistics is greatly influenced by efficient collection systems, partnerships between the recycling industry and processors and producers, and support for policies such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The study emphasizes the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration and the use of technology to improve the effectiveness of UBC's reverse logistics system in a variety of contexts.
