Abstract

The leaching of acetyl tributyl citrate (ATBC) from plastic kitchen wrap into water, aqueous acetic acid solution, and aqueous skim milk solution heated to 60°C was investigated. A new extraction method was developed to determine the leaching rate. It was found that ATBC is prone to migrate into protein liq- uids, such as aqueous skim milk solution.
