Abstract

Water is most essential natural resource on earth and we cannot live without it. Contamination of water is increasing day by day. In Punjab, India water is not safe for drinking, it can be cause of many harmful diseases. It mainly affect human kidney. In present research, work is done to find the characteristics of the ground water collected from Phagwara Region, Punjab. Analysis was done using different spectroscopic techniques, mainly - Fourier Transform Infra-Red and Fluorescence spectroscopy. It was observed that the sample contained strong narrow C-C triple bond, N-H bond is also present. The two spectroscopic techniques were successful in characterizing the bonds present in the sample under research.
