Abstract
A cDNA clone encoding a novel 2-oxoacid-dependent dioxygenase which is up-regulated during the early phases of adventitious root formation in Malus domestica 'Jork 9' has been isolated. The corresponding gene has been designated ARRO-1 (Adventitious Rooting Related Oxygenase) and is represented in the apple genome by a number of distinct gene copies.
