Medos urbanos e mídia: O imaginário sobre juventude e violência no Brasil atual

Abstract

This article aims to raise questions about the culture and industry of fear in Brazil today, through the relationship between youth and violence, and evaluates the consequences of this correlation by means of the propositions raised by the Brazilian media in the national imagination. This problem is understood by observing the training of young people in this first decade of the XXI', in a time of significant changes in patterns of national behavior. These changes spray social values and stride to the growing individualism in social relations and expansions to the fear to the other, within the interactive forms that are subject not only youth, but the general population.
