Abstract

Cobalt oxide Co 3 O 4 nanoparticles have been synthesized via sonochemical method in an ionic liquid, 1- Ethyl- 3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [EMIM][BF4] for the first time. The crystal structure of Co 3 O 4 nanoparticles has been characterized by using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). Morphology has been characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The optical properties were studied by UV-VIS Spectrometer.
