Abstract
From the dialogue with the film Dribbling fate (Fernando Vendrell, 1998), considered as a map unfolded important issues of cape verdeans daily lives, this article aims to discuss two contemporary instances of sports activities: a) the relationship of ex-colonies with the former colonizers, b) the migration of athletes from less economically developed countries for specific centers, especially the European market. We argue that this discussion allows us to set up dialogue between the interpretation of the sport and some discussions related to postcolonialism, above all in relation to neocolonialist positions.
