Abstract

A new oleanane-type glycoside, trijugaoside A, together with thirty known compounds, was isolated from the whole plant of Salvia trijuga (Lamiaceae). The structure of the new compound was elucidated on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. Hyptadienic acid isolated from the plant extract exhibited moderate cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells.
