Abstract
This study examines the teaching of the Al-Quran among visually impaired individuals at PERTIS Wilayah Pahang, focusing specifically on the accessibility of learning processes. The objective of this research is to analyze the issues and challenges faced during the teaching and learning activities at the center. A qualitative approach employing a phenomenological design was adopted utilizing in-depth interviews with one instructor, five visually impaired students, and one administrative officer from PERTIS Wilayah Pahang. The data were analyzed using NVivo12 software through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding to identify the main themes of the study. The findings reveal several key challenges in Quranic instruction at PERTIS Wilayah Pahang, including a shortage of instructors proficient in Braille, limitations in the Al-Quran Braille learning process, and accessibility issues at the activity center and its facilities. The study proposes several improvements, such as the use of the Malaysian Braille Al-Quran (MQBM), employing cooks, upgrading infrastructure, and providing regular training for instructors. These findings are expected to contribute to enhancing the Quranic education system for visually impaired individuals and to encourage authorities to improve the infrastructure of Al-Quran Braille learning classes. AbstrakKajian ini membincangkan tentang pengajaran Al-Quran dalam kalangan Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) Penglihatan di PERTIS Wilayah Pahang dengan memberi tumpuan khusus kepada aksesibiliti pembelajaran. Objektif kajian adalah untuk menganalisis isu dan cabaran yang dihadapi dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di pusat aktiviti tersebut. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan reka bentuk fenomenologi melalui kaedah temu bual mendalam bersama beberapa orang tenaga pengajar, lima orang pelajar OKU penglihatan, dan satu orang pegawai pembantu tadbir PERTIS Wilayah Pahang. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan perisian NVivo12 melalui proses pengekodan terbuka, pengekodan paksi dan pengekodan terpilih bagi membentuk tema-tema utama kajian. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa pengajaran Al-Quran di PERTIS Wilayah Pahang menghadapi beberapa cabaran utama antaranya kekurangan tenaga pengajar yang mahir dalam tulisan Braille, kekangan dalam proses pembelajaran Al-Quran Braille dan isu aksesibiliti ke pusat aktiviti dan tempat. Kajian ini turut mencadangkan beberapa penambahbaikan seperti penggunaan Mashaf Al-Quran Braille Malaysia (MQBM), menggunakan khidmat tukang masak, peningkatan kemudahan infrastruktur dan latihan berkala untuk tenaga pengajar. Dapatan kajian ini diharap dapat menyumbang kepada penambahbaikan sistem pengajaran Al-Quran bagi golongan OKU penglihatan dan membuka ruang kepada pihak berautoriti untuk meningkatkan infrastruktur kelas pengajian Al-Quran Braille.
