Abstract

In recent years, air-floating foundations are increasingly used in offshore structures based on their rapid and efficient transportation and installation process. To investigate the static and dynamic stability of an air-floating structure, this paper compares the structural responses of different floating structure forms and draft heights by means of the theoretical formula and model tests. The results indicate that the adoption of the air-floating structure can significantly reduce the structural responses of the structure under the action of wave and current, and air-floating technology can be popularized and applied in practical engineering. The air-floating reduction coefficient increases with the increase in draft height. Regarding the air-floating reduction coefficient, the regular wave test result is the largest, followed by the current-irregular wave test result, and the theoretical calculation result is the smallest.
