Abstract

Epithelial ovarian carcinoma represents the third most frequent cancer of the female genital tract with an estimated 191,000 newly diagnosed cases per year worldwide (1). The incidence is highest in theUnited States, Europe, and Israel, and is lowest in Japan and developing countries (2). In high-incidence areas, the lifetime risk of developing the disease is 1-2%.
