Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the effects of oral antivirals in reducing the frequency of recurrence of HSV keratitis. Our main objective is to evaluate the prophylactic effect of oral antivirals on HSV deeper corneal involvement (i.e., necrotizing and non-necrotizing stromal keratitis, endotheliitis, and iritis) because of its implications for visual impairment.
