Abstract

A methodology for the modeling of business sustainability that is based on the dynamics of systems and integrating elements of mathematical, statistical and dynamic systems analysis is proposed. For this, the general aspects referring to sustainable development are reviewed. Among this are, the characteristics and indicators related to sustainable business, the key concepts of systems dynamics, dynamic systems and the modeling of business sustainability. The proposed methodology is detailed and its application to the specific case of a national manufacturing company is described. Through the construction of the model, its simulation and analysis, it was possible to establish sustainability actions related to human talent management, energy saving and the generation of solid waste. The methodology and the proposed model allow the company to define improvement alternatives that contribute to better business performance.
